Today I have a little tutorial showing you how to work wrap and turn short rows. This is my favorite way, but if you don’t like them or the results they give you, there are many other methods you can try – like German short rows, Japanese short rows or Shadow wraps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heute habe ich ein kurzes Tutorial f\u00fcr verk\u00fcrzte Reihen f\u00fcr Dich. Ich mag am liebsten die wrap and turn (wickeln und wenden) Methode, aber wenn Dir diese Variante nicht gef\u00e4llt, gibt es noch jede Menge andere Variationen – wie zum Beispiel German short rows, Japanese short rows oder Shadow wraps. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your pattern will say something like “K x stitches, w&t” – that’s the abbreviation for “wrap and turn”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In deiner Anleitung steht so etwas wie “X M re str, w&w (oder w&t). <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To wrap and turn a stitch, first bring your yarn to the front of the work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Um die Masche zu umwickeln, bring das Garn vor die Arbeit. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slip the next stitch purlwise to the right-hand needle<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hebe die n\u00e4chste M wie links ab auf die rechte Nadel. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring the yarn to the back and slip the stitch purlwise to the left-hand needle. The working yarn is now wrapped around the stitch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring das Garn wieder nach hinten und hebe die Masche wie links zur\u00fcck auf die linke Nadel. Das Arbeitsgarn ist jetzt um die Masche gewickelt. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turn your work and purl as many stitches as your pattern says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wende die Arbeit und stricke so viele Maschen links, wie in Deiner Anleitung angegeben.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the purl side, do the same as on the knit side. Bring the working yarn to the front…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf der linken Seite machst Du genau das gleiche wie auf der rechten Seite. Bring das Garn vor die Arbeit…<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

… and slip the stitch purlwise to the right-hand needle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

… und hebe die Masche wie links auf die rechte Nadel. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring the yarn to the back and slip the stitch purlwise to the left-hand needle – the yarn is now wrapped around the stitch. Turn your work again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you reach the wrapped stitch on the knit side, it is time to “hide the wrap” – that means working the stitch and its wrap together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn Du die umwickelte Masche auf der rechten Seite erreichst, wird die Umwicklung “versteckt” – das bedeutet, die Masche und ihre Umwicklung werden zusammengestrickt.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insert your needle into the wrap… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stich mit der Nadel in die Umwicklung ein… <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

… and put it onto your left-hand needle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

… und hebe sie auf die linke Nadel. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now knit the stitch and the wrap together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jetzt werden die Masche und die Umwicklung zusammengestrickt. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do the same thing on the purl side! To hide the wrap, insert your needle into the wrap and lift it onto your left-hand needle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mach das gleiche auf der linkenSeite! Um die Umwicklung zu verstecken, stich mit der Nadel in die Umwicklung ein und hebe sie auf die linke Nadel. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
