Beads are perfect to add a little sparkle to your knitting, to add a little weight to a shawl so it sits and falls better or just to bring a smile to your face.
There are several ways to add them into your work – you can prestring them or add them as you go, with a small crochet hook, a beader or dental floss.
I’ll show you how to use a small crochet hook today – a beader works exactly the same, but it can hold more beads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You need a very small crochet hook – I use 0.75 mm or 1 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stitch that gets the bead can either be knit before you place the bead or after – your pattern will tell you which one it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
