<\/a><\/p>\nWhen he reached the moon is a top-down triangular lace shawl featuring a series of different lace patterns to make the knitting interesting. Worked in mohair at a loose gauge, it is wonderfully warm yet light as a cloud and big enough to snuggle into when you are in need of a little bit of comfort. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It is also beautiful worked in smooth yarn, at the same or a tighter gauge. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It is inspired by one of my favourite songs, \u201eWhen I reached the moon\u201c by Morten Harket. All my designs are accompanied by his beautiful voice, so I had to name one of them after one of his songs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The pattern is available on Ravelry<\/a>,\u00a0Craftsy<\/a> and Patternfish<\/a>.<\/p>\n Size:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> Approx. 180 cm [71″] Wingspan, 90 cm [35.5<\/span><\/span><\/span>“]<\/span><\/span><\/span> deep (Beige\/green sample)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Approx. 160 cm [63”] Wingspan, 80 cm [31.5”] deep (Turquoise\/black sample)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Gauge:<\/b><\/span> 14<\/span> sts and 30 rows = 10 cm [4″] in stockinette stitch after blocking for the beige\/green <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 19 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm [4\u201d] in stockinette stitch after blocking for the turquoise\/black <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n (Gauge is not vital for this project, but it will affect the size of the FO and yardage.)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Materials: <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 4 stitch markers<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Beige\/green sample:<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Garnstudio Drops Kid-Silk (25 g [0.9 oz], 200 m [219 yd], 75% mohair, 25% silk), 4 hanks #20, Light Beige (Color A); 1 hank #18 Apple Green (Color B)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Or approx. 652 m [713 yd] laceweight yarn of your choice (588 m [643 yd]) of Color A, 64 m [70 yd]) of Color B<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 4 mm [US 6] 80 cm (32\u201d) circular needle, or a size that gives you a fabric you like.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n (Designer’s note:<\/b><\/i> I only needed 3 hanks of Color A, but I had only 0.19 g left.
