I have a new pattern available on Ravelry, Craftsy and (soon) Patternfish and Loveknitting and I’m really excited to see if you like it 🙂
Begonia and Rose is a Pi Shawl featuring different Japanese lace patterns and beads. I love Japanese patterns and the creative stitches used in them, so I chose several for this shawl. The name Begonia and Rose describes the color of the sample, the leaf patterns for the body of the shawl and the rose leaf pattern in the border.
This pattern is for experienced lace knitters or adventurous novices.
Size: 120 cm [47″] in diameter
Gauge: 21.5 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm [4″] in stockinette stitch after blocking
(Gauge is not vital for this project, but it will affect the size of the FO and yardage)

MADELINETOSH Tosh Lace (115 g [4 oz], 868 m [950 yd], 100 % superwash merino wool), 2 hanks Begonia Leaf
Or approx. 1280 m [1400 yd] laceweight yarn of your choice, 920 m (1005 yd) for the body and 360 m (395 yd) for the border

A set of 4 dpns 3 mm [US 2 or 3], or a size to give you a fabric you like (you can use one of these again later, when you knit on the border).
3 mm [US 2 or 3] 80 cm [32”] circular nedle, or a size to give you a fabric you like.
1 cable needle
(Designer’s note: I’m a loose knitter, so you may want to try bigger needles if you aren’t.)
1 stitch marker of Color A for the beginning of the round
Optional: 31 stitch markers of Color B to use after every pattern repeat
120 beads (Size 8, or take a length of your yarn to the store and see if it fits and if you like the look)
Small crochet hook (I used 0.75 mm) for beading or dental floss
From now until February 6th, end of day (Switzerland time) I’m running a promotion on Ravelry! If you buy Begonia and Rose, you get one of my other single patterns of your choice for free! Just add both patterns to your cart 🙂
