When my Ravelry group celebrated its first anniversary in June, I let the group members decide what my next shawl should be like. The resulting pattern is now done and we’re celebrating by having a Mystery KAL!
Join the fun and with a little luck win a beautiful prize from Kayalana Yarns!
About the pattern:
Size:
Faroese: 180 cm 71” wingspan, 80 cm 31.5” deep
Triangle: 165 cm 65.25” wingspan, 80 cm 31.5” deep
Gauge: 20 sts and 40 rows = 10 cm 4” in garter stitch
(Gauge is not vital for this project, but it will affect the size of the FO and yardage.)
Materials
Madelinetosh Tosh Lace (115 g 4.06 oz, 868 m 950 yd, 100 % merino), 1 hank Betty Drapers Blues
Or approx. 870 m 955 yd laceweight yarn of your choice (Faroese version)
765 m 840 yd laceweight yarn of your choice (triangular version)
(Designer’s note: I used only one hank for the Faroese version, with about 10 g left)
4 mm US 6 80 cm (32”) circular needle, or a size that gives you a fabric you like.
(Designer’s note: I’m a loose knitter, so you may want to try bigger needles if you aren’t.)
8 stitch markers (4 of color A, 4 of color B)
Optional: 93 beads (85 for the triangular version) (Size 8, or take a length of your yarn to the store and see if it fits and if you like the look)
Small crochet hook (I used 0.75 mm) for beading or dental floss
